However, last week, the UP Advisory Board gave a clean chit to the BJP leader and recommended revoking of the NSA. At present, Varun is on parole granted by Supreme Court, which ends on Thursday. The UP government approached Supreme Court challenging the state advisory Board's decision. Varun also petitioned the apex court saying despite the clean chit by the Board, UP government is not acting on the recommendation of the advisory Board.

NSA on Varun: SC to hear case today
Supreme Court will take up Bharatiya Janata Party leader Varun Gandhi's and the Uttar Pradesh government's petitions on Thursday on detaining him under the National Security Act.
