Fake Encounter - This time a muslim women
After women were killed in two encounters in Kashmir between security forces and militants, much was being made of how the Lashkar was now using women operatives, something that was new in the Valley. But now NDTV has learned that the two women killed were not connected to the Lashkar at all nor were they militants but simply, were involved with the militants on a personal level. In the encounter on April 18, Zahida Qausti was killed in an encounter in Doda. It was claimed that she was an over the ground operative but now it seems she was not a militant at all, but involved with one of the two terrorists killed. There is no evidence that Zahida was a terrorist. While on April 19 a man and woman were killed in an encounter, investigations have now revealed that Dilshada, the woman was in a relationship with the militant. But again there is no evidence of her being a terrorist while in a third case that happened earlier a woman was picked up by the BSF at the border after which they claimed she was a Pakistan-trained terrorist. But a probe now shows that Asiya Bibi had had a fight with her husband after which she crossed over to Pakistan occupied Kashmir.Infiltration on the riseWith the summer months coming, it is common knowledge that infiltration from across the borders would increase this year. However, there are reports that infiltration is higher than usual. NDTV has reports that 150 terrorists have crossed over to India in Gurez and 50 new satellite phones have also been found during search operations. There is also an increase in the recovery of sophisticated equipment like snow boots and ice cutters. Shepherds have been asked to keep away from venturing out into higher mountains.
