Various terror attacks when Advani was Home Min: Sonia

Kapil Kelkar Dhule (Mah), Apr 20 Hitting out at BJP's slogan of having a strong leadership, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi today scoffed at the Opposition party's claim by saying that L K Advani was the Home Minister when various terror attacks struck the country including the one on Parliament."Perhaps their definition of a strong leader is one who was deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister when there were a series of terror attacks including one on Parliament...And arrested terrorists were released and taken to Kandahar as if they were guests," Gandhi said at a rally in Dondaeecha in north Maharashtra.Referring to the deaths of former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, the Congress president said when it comes to being tough on terror the party did not need a certificate from anyone."On one hand you have the Congress which takes everybody along and adopts the path of development. On the other hand, you have people who spread poison in society and practice politics of hate," Gandhi (62), contesting from Rae Bareili said.Claiming that the UPA government was a step ahead when it came to issues of minorities, Gandhi said for the first time a separate ministry was formed to look into their affairs. "The Sachar committee was set up so that those recommendations are implemented," Gandhi said.
