DAMASCUS, June 20, 2009 (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas met, today, with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, upon his arrival to the Syrian capital, Damascus.
The meeting comes within the policy of coordination and consultation President Abbas is conducting with our Arab brothers, concerning the current developments on both, Palestinian and Arab aspects. Also, it aims at briefing them on the results of President Abbas’ meetings with US President Barack Obama, in an attempt to come up with a united Arab position especially after Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech and the conditions he put in the face of the peace process.
