We would have erased Pak from world map over 26/11: Uddhav

Had 26/11-type terror attack taken place during NDA regime, the government would have erased Pakistan from world map, Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray said in Mumbai on Friday.
"If such attack would have taken place during our rule, we would have given a strong reply and erased Pakistan from world map," Uddhav said, addressing an election rally for BJP-Sena candidate Ram Naik in suburban Borivli on Friday evening.
"Whenever we have talked about terrorism, Congress always reminded us about Kandahar hijack. But they forgot Kargil when we reacted strongly," he said.
Criticising Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Uddhav questioned Singh's assurance that the government will counter terror by all means, Uddhav said 'people should not risk their lives which are not safe under Congress regime.'
"China is moving into Indian border, Pakistan is in an unstable conditions, Sri Lanka is facing trouble and Bangladeshis are infiltrating into the country," Uddhav said.
"At this stage, people need a strong government and Congress cannot provide that," he said.
Taking potshots at NCP chief Sharad Pawar's prime ministerial ambitions, Uddhav said 'we have backed L K Advani for the post and here is Pawar, who says the issue of PM's post will be decided only after the polls.'
