 | Egypt has strongly condemned Israel's military operations and its ground incursion into Gaza's territories, describing them as a new escalation of its aggression against the defenceless Palestinian people.
A statement by Egyptian Presidency issued last night said that Egypt warned of the repercussions of the brutal aggression and holds Israel responsible for the martyrs and the innocent civilian victims and warned it of expanding scopes of its aggression and of its forces'incursion into the Gaza strip.
The statement while demanding Israel to stop its aggression immediately without any pre-conditions, called on the UN Security Council and the Quartet to carry out their responsibilities without delay to stop the Israeli aggression and hold Israel full responsibility as an occupying state to speedily tackle the humanitarian repercussions on the Gaza people.
The Israeli aggression places all the Palestinian powers in the same trench, the statement said, reiterating Egypt's stance by calling on the National Palestinian Authority and the various Palestinian factions to renounce their differences and unify their ranks to confront such an aggression.
Egypt would continue its efforts and contacts to stop the Israeli attacks, restore truce , lift the siege and achieve Palestinian national reconciliation to support the Palestinian people and their just cause, it said. |
